HD, Color, Sound, 6’35” 2021
Four soldier puppets walk in a squared space in a movement inspired by Samuel Beckett’s Quad (1981). By visually adapting Deleuze’s ideas on Quad (The Exhausted, 1995), the film explores the concept of “exhausting the possible” within the time and space in stop-motion animation form. The puppets—and the printed images of the puppets—slowly disintegrate and the residue from the repetitions remains to become new possibilities.
군인 형상을 한 네 개의 인형이 사무엘 베케트의 <쿼드(Quad, 1981)>에서 따온 움직임으로 네모난 공간을 걷는다. 질 들뢰즈의 <쿼드>에 관한 분석 <소진된 인간(1995)>을 시각적으로 재해석한 이 영화는 스톱모션 애니메이션을 통해 ‘가능성의 소진’을 탐구한다. 인형들, 그리고 인쇄된 인형들의 이미지는 천천히 붕괴되고 반복의 잔여물로써 새로운 가능성을 상상한다.
